Tricolor starts preparations for 2026 Copa do Brasil debut

Back at the SuperCT after the match against Vasco da Gama last Saturday (18) in Rio de Janeiro, the squad returned this Sunday (19) and began preparations for their 2026 Copa do Brasil debut.

On the evening of next Tuesday (21), at 7:15 p.m., at MorumBIS, Tricolor will host Juventude in the first leg of the fifth round of the national competition.

At this morning’s return, the players were split into two groups: the starters did recovery work indoors, while the rest trained on the pitch.

The on-field activities began with a warm-up that included a fitness circuit led by the coaching staff.

After that, the players were divided into two teams for an 11-a-side match split into two halves.

One absentee from today’s training session was Bobadilla. The midfielder felt unwell after yesterday’s match and began treatment while still in the locker room at São Januário Stadium.

This morning, he was taken to Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and diagnosed with acute gastroenterocolitis. The defensive midfielder underwent treatment for the symptoms and received supportive hydration, and he will now continue to be monitored so he can return to activities with his teammates.

For the clash with Juventude, São Paulo will welcome back right-back Lucas Ramon and center-back Rafael Toloi, who served suspensions against Vasco da Gama.

This Monday (20), Tricolor will wrap up preparations to face the team from Caxias do Sul.
