President of the Legislative Branch of Dominica receives the Ambassador of Cuba

Dominica, Roseau, May 9, 2024.

In a cordial atmosphere, the Honorable Joseph Isaac, Speaker of the House of Assembly of the Commonwealth of Dominica, received Miguel Fraga, the new Cuban Ambassador to this country.

The Cuban diplomat expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and the opportunity to exchange on issues of mutual interest. “It was a pleasure to meet the Honorable Joseph Isaac, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Dominica. Grateful for the fruitful exchange of views and warm hospitality. We look forward to continuing to collaborate for the prosperity of our countries,” the Ambassador stated in a message on his social network X account.

Among the topics discussed, key areas of collaboration were highlighted, such as health, agriculture, education, and sports. Both parties recognized the importance of working together on projects that benefit the communities of both nations and contribute to sustainable development. They also reviewed issues of interest for the promotion of relations between the legislatures of both countries.

In addition, in a gesture of recognition and friendship, the Honorable Joseph Isaac conveyed congratulations on the 28th anniversary of bilateral relations between Cuba and Dominica, which will be celebrated on May 18. The legislator highlighted the achievements made and reaffirmed the commitment to continue strengthening ties between the two nations in the future.
