The SEMAN Peru aerospace industrial complex, the technological arm of the Peruvian Air Force (FAP) and a key player in the modernization process, was visited by the Commander of the Air Component of the United States Southern Command (AFSOUTH). The visit aimed to strengthen defense and security cooperation and assess potential strategic alliances for the joint development of new aerospace defense solutions.
During the tour, USAF Major General David A. Mineau received information on the maintenance and repair processes for both civilian and military aircraft carried out at the Las Palmas facility in Lima. SEMAN Perú has recently gained experience in the co-production of aircraft, initially for training in collaboration with South Korea, and is developing parts and components for commercial aircraft.
In an interview with Zona Militar, FAP Commander General, General del Aire Carlos Enrique Chávez Cateriano, explained that the replacement of combat aircraft and the incorporation of new technologies will involve SEMAN Perú.

As is known, the United States is participating in this international competition with its Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 70 system, which has reached the semifinal stage with three competitors and already has a budget allocated by the Peruvian government.
The USAF delegation also observed the capabilities of the No. 31 Air Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group, confirming its operational capacity and compliance with international standards.
