There is something special about Afrobeat Toño Negron

Despite having most of his works in the R&B and Latin genres as a musician, United States based producer and music promoter, Anthony Lerone Jackson popularly known as Toño Negron has said he has deep love for Afrobeat music.

Toño Negron is the founder of the Negron World record label and having collaborated with artists from Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, The Dominican Republic, South Africa and Nigeria, he said that there is something special about Afrobeat.

“Afrobeat is like a mixture of sounds that get to your nerves and soul. I know this because as a young boy I felt the same love for salsa and it even inspired me to learn to write and speak Spanish as I aspired to compose music within that genre and travel Latin America” “I’ve been to South Africa and Nigeria and I have worked with artists from the two continents and now I have Kozy G, a special artist from Nigeria signed to Negron World” “I’m proud of the Afrobeat songs and collaborations we have like “Still on the Matter”, “Nigeria to Colombia” and the label also has the “Negron World Afrobeats albums Volume 1 and 2”, he said.

He said that he often sees himself as an explorer in the music world because he always lets his heart follow the sounds. Having learned how to play several music instrument as a kid in the church choir, Toño Negron has gone on to use these gifts in music production, something he said “opens his horizons to endless possibilities” “I might even create my own genre someday. I just feel like I can create anything from what I hear and see. There are endless possibilities in the vision behind Negron World” “We have artists from the U.S., Latin America and Africa; I think we want more. We have been working with young and talented musicians who are hungry for success and are looking to grow as artists” “J. Bonny from Colombia is one massive talent and Kozy G from Nigeria is in a league of his own”, he said.

He concluded that Negron World will be taking advantage of music being a borderless language to find a way to always create something special for the label, artists and public.
