Ferry Sinks Off Mozambique Coast, Claiming Over 90 Lives

Reports from Mozambique have confirmed a devastating ferry sinking off the north coast, resulting in the loss of more than 90 lives.

The tragedy unfolded as the vessel, reportedly carrying nearly 130 individuals, succumbed to the depths of the sea, with only five rescued.

The heartbreaking incident occurred against the backdrop of a desperate flight from a cholera outbreak, as disclosed by Jaime Neto, secretary of state for Nampula province.

“Because the boat was overcrowded and unsuited to carry passengers, it ended up sinking,” Neto lamented, revealing that numerous children were among the casualties.

Disturbing videos circulated on social media, depicting the aftermath with lifeless bodies lying across the shoreline.

However, the authenticity of these visuals remains unverified as source seeks confirmation.

Investigations are underway to ascertain the root cause of this harrowing disaster, as authorities grapple with the enormity of the loss.

Two survivors receive critical medical attention.

The government, however, is yet to comment in the wake of mounting inquiries, leaving many questions unanswered.

The ill-fated journey began in Lunga province, with the ferry bound for Mozambique island.
